My story

Hi, I'm Sparky, a one and a half-year-old Poodle blend boy who weighs 59 pounds. I’m an active guy but with regular play and exercise, I turn into a couch potato.  I give lots of hugs and kisses and will always greet you with great enthusiasm, even if you just put the trash out. I’m looking for a family who enjoys spending time with me, sometimes like Velcro! General Behavior: Sparky’s foster mom describes him as an “energetic love bug.” He loves his people and being near them is his happy place.  He becomes anxious when separated from them for too long. Likes & Dislikes: Sparky loves toys and will play with them for hours.  He loves to chew, so the indestructible kind are best!  He likes to go for walks and tolerates a car ride.  Training: Sparky is housetrained and will even let you know when he has to go out. He walks well on a leash and enjoys the exercise, though he can be reactive to other dogs.  He is also working on basic commands and is very food-motivated so he is catching on quickly.  Medical: Sparky is a healthy boy! He just needs his monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog. Other Animals: Sparky gets along well with his foster fur brother who is close to his size and has also done well meeting other medium- and large-sized dogs in the neighborhood.  He has not been tested with small dogs but he plays hard, so small dogs and cats are probably not a good fit. Children: Sparky would do best with teenagers and adults considering his size and enthusiasm. Home: Sparky will need a single-family home given that he can be vocal when left alone. He doesn’t require a fenced-in backyard but needs to get some nice walks in. He can be left alone in a secure area of the house for a couple hours safely. Grooming: Sparky will need regular baths and nail trims, along with occasional grooming cuts, to look and feel his best. Overall: If you are looking for an affectionate, playful pup who is still learning the ropes but will love you with his whole heart, Sparky may be the one for you. Are you the one for Sparky? Then visit our website at www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption donation is $450. ##2440195##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sparky, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
