***FOSTER or ADOPT Me***Hi, I’m Robbie, a 5-year-old, 11-lb Chihuahua! I don't need much: just belly rubs and a kind human who will love me forever. I'm all about options and am looking for someone to foster OR adopt me. Word on the street is that sometimes a foster will "Foster Fail", and you will end up adopting me. That sounds like a pretty awesome “Fail” to me! I’m looking for a “Chihuahua person” who can appreciate my breed. General Behavior: Robbie is adorable, loyal, alert, smart, and feisty. Robbie is also a total couch potato. His ideal day would involve sitting next to (or on) his person on the sofa for his belly rubs, then burrowing under the covers for more snuggles when it is time to go to sleep. He will greet you enthusiastically when you return home and he's always ready to give you a kiss when you need one (and even when you don’t). When it comes to other people, this sweetheart will never be a social butterfly, but with love, patience, and slow introductions, he can expand his social circle. Likes & Dislikes: Robbie loves attention from his human and is also a big fan of snuggles. He also loves treats and takes them like a gentleman! Training: Robbie is housetrained if let out frequently, he is well behaved on car rides, and he sleeps in the people's bed at night. Robbie can become very attached to “his person” and he doesn’t really like to share them with others. Whoever adopts him should immediately, and slowly, introduce him to people who frequent the house, so they won’t be strangers to him. Medical: Robbie is a healthy boy! He just needs his monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog. Other Animals: Robbie would be best suited in a home without other dogs. He truly wants his person all to himself. He hasn't been observed around cats, but his foster does NOT think he'd be OK with them. Children: Robbie has not been observed around children yet. He would probably do best in a home with understanding, older children (age 15+) or no children. However, if it were up to Robbie, he would have a loving home with just one person, or a couple who can share lots of love and shower him with attention. Home: A single-family home is needed for Robbie. This fella has a loud bark, and shared walls would not be ideal. Grooming: Robbie is low maintenance and will just need brushing and nail trims to make him feel and look his best. Overall: Robbie will make a wonderful companion for a kind, patient, dog-savvy home. Do you have a spot on your sofa and in your heart for this cutie? If so, visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption donation is $275. ##2304786##
