Hello! My name is Sully – I’m 9 years "young" and weigh 25 lbs. Don’t let my frosty face fool you . . . I’m still an active boy, always looking for my next adventure! My white muzzle is just my cool coloring and gives me a rather distinguished appearance – some may even call me “dapper”. I contend that I am the "George Clooney" of dogs. General Behavior: Sully is the perfect mix – he’s cute, resilient and has the best personality. Sully’s fosters say he acts a lot younger than his age and is very fun and affectionate. He’s very independent and prefers to be on the ground doing his “own thing”. He is an enthusiastic “wiggle butt” who is athletic and gentle. Sully is young at heart and has a lot to offer. Likes & Dislikes: Sully loves being in the yard or lounging on the lanai. He’s not big on toys but he does love his tennis ball and Nylabone. He likes taking his towel or blanket off of his bed and carrying it around. Sully enjoys sitting on your lap and likes to get attention when you sit on the floor with him. He doesn’t care for rough play with other dogs. He tolerates being picked up when needed. Training: Sully is housetrained in his foster home, and he walks very well on a leash. He enjoys his walks but only needs a short one. He already knows “sit” and additional training should be a breeze since he is a smart and food and treat-motivated boy. He enjoys his food puzzle. Medical: Sully will just require his monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention, like any other dog. Other Animals: Sully is dog savvy and has experience with dogs of all sizes. He currently resides with three larger dogs (he even thinks he’s “one of the big dogs”). While he would be the perfect addition to a family with a pooch needing a sweet buddy, he would also thrive as an only dog. Sully did spend a long weekend in a home with cats - he was interested in the cats and liked to growl and bark at them but did fine with them when supervised. While he avidly pursues the lizards, he does not seem to care about squirrels. Children: Sully has not been around children, but he should do well with children (8 years and older) who are respectful of his size and independence. Home: Sully acclimated to his foster home quickly and would do well in most homes. He does not like being left alone and barks for a few minutes when his foster leaves (but quickly settles). For that reason, shared walls in an apartment might not be the best fit. He would love a home where his people are home more often than not. He would make a great “work from home companion” or enjoy being a “retiree” with another retiree. Love to cook? If so, he would love to hang out in the kitchen while you do. When his people go out, Sully is fine being left alone for several hours in his secure space. He sleeps great at night in his dog bed but would gladly sleep in the “people bed” too. He also likes sporting his pajamas. Grooming: Sensational Sully will need regular brushing and nail trims, as well as a medicated bath every few weeks. Overall: Sully truly is the best and his fosters call him “the perfect boy”. He would love to find his perfect home so he can be your perfect boy. Are you the one for Sully? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You will be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it is a potential match. Sully is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative, neutered and he had a recent dental. His adoption donation is $300. ##2440216##
