My story

Meet Shawarma! A gorgeous gal looking for a home eager to show her all the wonderful things life has to offer. Sitting at 54 lbs., Shawarma is full of life and wants to accompany you on pretty much everything! She originally came in nervous and unsure, but over the past few weeks or so, she has blossomed into such a social and confident girl. We`re so proud of her for making so much progress in such a short time, and a lot of it we can thank our yummy treats for! Shawarma LOVES a tasty treat, and if you`re looking for the key to her heart, it will most likely be shaped like a piece of bacon or a bone. We`re not entirely sure what her life was like prior to coming into our care, but from her time here, we do think she would benefit from an owner who is ready to hit the ground running with all sorts of training. With her being so treat motivated, we have a feeling she`ll take to a routine quite quickly! If you`ve got a resident dog at home and are interested in Shawarma, we highly recommend you bring them in for a meet and greet to ensure they`ll be a good fit for each other. Shawarma hasn`t shown much interest in other dogs here, so she may prefer a cozy home where she gets the spotlight 24/7. If Shawarma sounds like the dog you`ve been looking for, we encourage you to come in and meet her today! This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 5-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff!Be sure to check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours! Both of our locations are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 12-7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information on our adoption process, including requirements and fees, visit: www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalshelter/adopt

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Shawarma, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
