My story

Meet Buttah, a 1-year-old, 73 lb male pup with a heart full of love and energy to spare! This friendly and affectionate boy enjoys playing with toys, especially ropes, noisy squeakers, and anything bacon-flavored. He also loves car rides, fetch, and running around the yard, making him a great match for an active adopter!Buttah does have a higher energy level and can be rambunctious, so he would benefit from a home ready to provide structure, enrichment, and regular playtime. He can be dog-selective and has shown reactivity on leash with other dogs. For this reason, any introductions to other dogs should be done slowly and carefully.If you`re looking for a loyal, playful companion and have the time and energy to help this sweet boy thrive, Buttah could be your perfect match!This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 5-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff!Be sure to check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
