Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617**LAVERNE IS BONDED TO SHIRLEY****Due to Laverne needing spayed, her adoption will not be finalized until on or after: TBDCould she do well with kids? Yes, with children 6 years and older.Could she do well with other dogs? Yes, on a dog-by-dog basis.Has this dog lived with cats? Unknown. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Laverne is an outgoing yet timid dog who enjoys husbandry handling and often turns it into a game. She walks well on a leash and has no resource guarding issues over food. Laverne loves small balls and plush, squeaky toys. She greets strangers politely, shows some leash aggression towards other dogs, and barks for space but allows small dogs to greet her. Loud barking from other dogs makes her reactive. She’s less bonded to Shirley but shows some bonding behaviors and can be separated from her for 5-10 minutes without stress. Laverne enjoys playing with people and chasing them, but she doesn’t like tug-of-war. If approached too quickly, she’ll flop onto her side to request space.
