This 63-pound American Pit Bull Terrier mix is a volunteer favorite—a steady, sweet, goofy companion who walks beautifully on leash, melts under gentle affection, and adores a good toy (even if he’s a little enthusiastic about claiming it).He`s polite. He`s gentle. And he`s absolutely precious.What We Love About Barnum:- His smooshy, expressive face will melt your heart- Walks like a dream—easily one of the best walkers in the whole shelter- Soaks up affection, leaning into pets like he’s waited his whole life for them- Has a big personality and an even bigger heart- Loves attention, scritches, and his people—with all the enthusiasm of a dog half his ageBarnum’s Ideal Home:- Children 12+ (depending on the fit)- Possibly a female dog companion, with a proper intro- A home that values mellow mornings, cozy evenings, and heartfelt companionship- Someone who believes senior dogs are not “past their prime,” but prime timeBarnum has done super well at many shelter events, seemingly unphased by crowds and noise, though he does request a raincoat in inclement weather.
