My story

Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617**Due to Karl needing neutered, his adoption will not be finalized until on or after: TBDCould he do well with kids? Yes, with children around 12 years old, on a kid-by-kid basis.Could he do well with other dogs? Yes, on a dog-by-dog basis.Has this dog lived with cats? Unknown. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---What volunteers have to say about this animal:Meet Karl – The Happy-Faced, Gentle-Jumping GoofballGot room in your heart (and your personal space) for a 10-month-old shepherd mix who thinks the best way to say hello is with his whole entire face? Meet Karl—a lanky, loving, slightly clueless pup who is pure sunshine in dog form Why Karl Will Win You Over Instantly:•His face. It’s always smiling. Always.•Has the best “jump-hug” greeting (working on boundaries… but it’s cute)•Already knows Sit and Shake—very good boy material•Loves toys, especially squeaky pigs and anything he can chase•Gets zoomy and playful when invited, then circles back for love•Wants to please but is still figuring out how—think “big puppy soul in a teenage body”Kid-friendly? Yes! Karl may do well with kids 12+ who can handle his bouncy affection and help reinforce polite greetings.Dog-friendly? Yes, on a dog-by-dog basis. He gets amped up and wants to play—but not every dog wants to party like Karl does.Cats? Unknown! What Karl’s Working On:•Leash manners—he likes to do interpretive dance around your legs•Building confidence around weird objects (he’s not so sure about canes)•Learning that toys are even more fun when you give them backKarl’s Ideal Home:•Active, patient humans who love to play•Room to zoom, squeak, and nap•Gentle structure to help him grow into the amazing adult dog he’s meant to be•Someone who doesn’t mind being politely bopped in the chest during cuddle requestsKarl is not just cute—he’s joy in motion. He’s got a heart full of sunshine, legs that go in five directions when he’s excited, and a goofy charm that’ll make your home brighter every day. He just needs someone to guide him with love, patience, and plenty of squeaky pigs.---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Karl is a young, energetic boy. He appeared inexperie
