My story

Sassafras, affectionately known as Sassy, is a sweet and loyal 14-year-old Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund/Terrier mix) who is looking for a loving new home to spend her golden years. The only girl from a litter of five, Sassy has been with her current family since she was 8 weeks old and has been deeply loved ever since. Born on February 7, 2011, Sassy is a small dog with a big heart. She looks like a classic Chihuahua, and while she may be a little shy at first, she warms up quickly and bonds deeply with her person. She's the perfect snuggle buddy for TV time, reading, or afternoon naps, and starts each day with her favorite little treat. Sassy would do best in a calm and quiet home—ideally with a senior or someone who enjoys a peaceful routine. She doesn’t like being startled, so a slower-paced environment where she can feel safe and secure is ideal. She thrives on companionship and will be your shadow once she knows she can trust you.
