My story

Thadeus is a healthy happy kitten who came to the shelter very sick and endured a month of meds. By nature he wants to be friendly but he is afraid of hands because of all the meds that were forced down his throat. He has been free of meds for about three weeks and is much more tolerant to being petted. He is very gentle, not at all aggressive, and will melt in your arms while being held. Thadeus is bonded to his sister, Tamar, and is much more confident when she is around. They would love to be adopted together.Due to his trauma from being medicated for so long, Thadeus requires a quiet still environment with gentle play. When he is in his favorite resting spot, he willingly accepts pets and likes gentle scratches under his chin and around his ears. When Thadeus has his confident days, he is super fun to play with. He loves chasing balls and playing with the wand toy. These days are more and more frequent. To get him out of his trauma brain, he responds very well to frequent play. Thadeus lived with children and other pets in his foster home. He gets along well with the small indoor dog and resident cats. The children were ages 5, 10, and 13 all very gentle with him. He played well with the children, but he rarely let them pick him up. When being held he is always gentle and safe.Thadeus consistently uses the litter box with pellet bedding. He has never had an accident outside of the box.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt THADEUS, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
