My story

Meet Bexley!! ➡️➡️ Yes it’s a fluffy frenchie but PLEASE READ HIS ENTIRE POST!! If it’s clear you didn’t read it we will know you’re not a serious adopter. ⬅️⬅️ This guy is a spunky and fun boy but easy to manage. Playful but also has a relaxed side. Bexley is an approx 2 year old male French Bulldog. He is not one of the types bred commonly these days to be super tiny. He’s a full size stocky guy and weighs 31 pounds and is full grown. He definitely doesn’t look that big in person he’s just stocky. ***Yes, he’s fluffy. It’s a thing breeders are doing to make “exotic” or “rare” frenchies to make more money. There’s other breeds mixed in to achieve this as the French bulldog breed is not fluffy. He’s adorable but this is not a reputable breeding practice and he was dumped off by his breeder when he couldn’t make enough money off of him 😡*** He will be neutered, microchipped and is up to date on vaccines. He is Heartworm negative and on monthly preventatives. He did great at the vet and for his bath. Things you should know and fully understand before applying: Bulldogs are expensive. It’s just how it is. They can have health problems and various vet needs throughout their lives. This breed can cost way more than a regular breed to care for properly. If you can’t honestly say you’re willing to provide that then consider picking one of our other lower maintenance dogs. He deserves a home that can give him anything and everything he needs. So far Bexley has been delightful. He loves everyone and is great meeting new people. He is fun loving and adventurous. Definitely has the typical sassy bulldog side but does take corrections well and listens good. Bexley does really well with his house manners. He is great with crate training. He’s also really good on car rides. He’s decent on the leash but could use some work to perfect it. He’s been excellent with potty training. He may still try marking territory inside but has done well with going straight outside from the kennel and emptying out before coming back in. His upcoming neuter should help resolve that. He really is an overall easy guy to have around. He currently has a medium energy level. He’s always ready to go on an outing or play but also has a very cuddly side. He loves to sit or lay beside you and soak up all the love. When he’s playful he loves playing chase or fetch. He seems to be a go with the flow kinda dog. If it’s time to play he’s ready, time to chill and he’s all for it. Due to his short nose, care needs to be taken that he doesn’t overheat. He can absolutely not be left outside alone. These dogs can easily die from heat or over exertion. Bexley has shown no aggression towards people. He has been fine sharing treats toys and food. He does get a little protective with special bones around other dogs but not people. He has done really well with Dogs of all sizes. However, he can be a little bit bossy with male dogs. This will likely resolve a lot once his neuter is done. He’s been very good with female dogs and does great with male dogs that ignore his sassy moments or do not try to be dominant with him. We do not know how he would do with cats. He’s very loving and sweet with kids. He does jump up a little bit when excited but we have been working on that and he’s getting much better. He will also do some play nips and vocalize when excited. We’ve been able to correct this fairly easily by calming him down when he gets that excited and he’s learning, but that needs to be taken into consideration with small children. He’s lived with children and overall does very well. We really adore this guy. He’s a great size and has a great personality. So far he’s been very healthy and easy going. Someone is going to get very lucky bringing this sweet boy into their family. If you’re experienced with bulldog breeds and are financially prepared for potential health issues then this awesome boy might be for you!! Located in Hampton VA. (He will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius) ‼️Please message VillageDogResource@gmail.com or for faster response and more photos message our Facebook Page directly with questions or to get an application.‼️

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bexley, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
