My story

Hi, my name is Cheeta. I am from Arkansas. Meet Cheeta- a big, beautiful Newfoundland with a gentle heart and a quiet soul. After spending her early life as a breeder dog, Cheeta is finally learning what it means to be part of a family. She’s calm, loving, and soaks up every bit of kindness that comes her way. She adores people (kids included), gets along well with other dogs, and is perfectly polite with cats. She’s a large girl, and while she’s incredibly gentle, small children may get bumped by a loving nudge or wagging tail. Cheeta is crate-trained, house-trained, and quiet — a peaceful presence who’s quickly settling into home life. Her crate is her comfort zone, but she’s trustworthy enough to roam freely.Cheeta doesn’t ask for much, just a soft place to rest and someone to love her.If you’re looking for a calm, loyal companion with a heart as big as her paws, Cheeta is waiting. I am currently being treated for heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious so your resident pets are not at risk! The treatment for this is 3-4 months long and requires a minimum of 3 appointments and strict rest/restricted activity. My adoption can take place during treatment, while TBB manages the financial responsibility of my heartworm treatment at The Bond Between Vet Center. Any other medical care needed outside of the specific care covered in the contract disclaimer, would be the responsibility of my new family.
