My story

Meet Benson, your future snuggle buddy and shadow in training! This sweet 2 year old, 11 pound Poodle mix boy is on a mission to discover what it really means to be home. After being released from a Nebraska puppy mill, Benson is finally learning how to just be a dog and he’s loving every second of it. He’s gentle, happy, and full of potential. Potty training is a work in progress, but he’s catching on quickly. Stairs? He’s got the “up” part down pat, but we’re still working on the “down.” Leash walking is a brand new skill for him, and he’s improving every single day. Benson is great with kids, enjoys the company of other dogs, and is starting to figure out that playtime is actually fun! He’s not the biggest fan of his crate just yet (who can blame him after his former life), but he’s learning to tolerate it. Benson is now neutered, vaccinated, 4Dx tested, microchipped, freshly groomed, and ready to soak up all the love. He doesn’t shed much at all, but will need regular grooming appts. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle companion with a heart full of hope and a tail that’s learning how to wag with confidence, Benson just might be your boy. His adoption donation is $450. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals.
