My story

Duke is fostered in Poynette, WI Duke is a 40 lbs. male blue merle aussie that will be celebrating his 2nd birthday in October and is seeking his perfect human(s) to celebrate with! Duke is a gem that knows his basic commands and has completed potty and crate training. This little eager beaver is ready to get to where he’s going, so some leash training is still required, but his food motivation is high, therefore we trust Duke will catch on quick with some treats and love. While at in his foster home, Duke is never far from his people. Like a shadow, he lurks, ready to strike with snuggles and playtime! For Duke, wherever his humans are, that’s where he wants to be. The boy will make someone the perfect adventure companion by day and cuddle bug by night. Did we mention that this boy loves food? So much so, we suggest keeping an eye on this lovable scamp, because just like Scooby Doo, this one will help himself to the scooby snacks wherever they may be! Not only that, but Duke is a little Houdini that makes his meals just disappear before your very eyes, so a slow feeder is recommended. Aside from food, Duke’s favorite pastime is play. Faster than a locomotive, this dog could enter the doggy Olympics with a fair chance at the gold, making him a great fit for agility or dog sport training. Sometimes he needs a little reminder to slow down and smell the roses, but Duke is great with correction and happy to learn. This pup dreams of his own fenced yard to play in, preferably with a ball or frisbee rather than another dog. Duke likes other dogs, but at the end of the day, he just wants to be the apple of his human’s eye and vice versa. He loves kiddos but hasn’t met any cats. This boy prefers to keep his lifestyle active and is more than happy to join his humans on car rides. Duke is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org. NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2379597##
