My story

Amarantha is a 5–6-year-old black and gray Australian Shepherd mix with a gentle spirit and a heart full of love. She’s the perfect mix of calm companionship and affectionate charm—always eager to sit by your side and soak up all the cuddles you’re willing to give. She keeps her kennel clean, walks like a dream on a leash, and already knows the “sit” command—proof that this lovely lady has some solid manners under her fluffy coat. She thrives on human attention and would love a home where she can be your loyal shadow. Amarantha is friendly with everyone she meets and would do great with children who can share in her affection. We’re not quite sure yet how she feels about other dogs, but we do know she’s not a fan of cats. If you're looking for a loving, attentive, well-mannered companion who’s just waiting to be someone’s everything, Amarantha may be the girl for you! Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt! Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $275+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs. Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
