My story

Chibs is a black and white domestic shorthair with a calm, affectionate personality. She’s the kind of cat who loves to lounge in a sunny spot, purr away the afternoon, and soak up any attention you're willing to give. She's sweet, social, and always happy to be near her people. Chibs is also a bit special—she has steroid-responsive skin flares that we currently manage with twice-daily prednisolone and a couple of soothing baths each week. We're not sure yet whether she’ll need to stay on the medication long-term or if she might improve in a stress-free home. The good news? She takes her meds like a champ, especially when spray cheese is involved. Chibs is easygoing, loving, and just needs a little extra care in return for a whole lot of love. If you’re looking for a relaxed, cuddly companion with a gentle soul, Chibs is ready to meet you. Meet and greet/adoption appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt! DON'T FORGET! Cats often do better with a friend! All our cats and kittens have an "Adopt one and the 2nd at half the adoption fee!" bonus!!! Our kitten/cat adoption fees vary on age, special needs, lonely heart status (cats that have been with us 6+ months), and for our senior to seniors program. Our adoption fees include the following: all of our cats/kittens are current on vaccinations (FVRCP series and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), treated for fleas/ticks/earmites in addition to being spayed or neutered once the cat reaches 2 lbs in weight. All cats and kittens adopted from the shelter are microchipped. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Because we are on a busy street, we require that all cats leaving the shelter be in a carrier. All pets are up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee is paid.
