My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. When was the last time you saw a cocker spaniel with such beautiful blue eyes, and lashes that go on for days?! Well it’s time for you to meet Rainbow! Rainbow is a 2 year old cocker spaniel that is a recent breeder release and is in search of her forever home.    Rainbow is a typical cocker. She absolutely loves her person. Everywhere her foster mom goes, Rainbow is right behind her. She always has a look on her face as if to say,” Where ya going, mama?”. Sometimes she can be a little too close, and can get underfoot. Whatever you are doing, Rainbow wants to be part of it. Cooking dinner? Yep there she is! Watching TV? Yep there she is! Working in the yard? You guessed it, there she is! She can be a little protective of her favorite person. Sometimes when another family member walks into the room, Rainbow has been known to give a little growl. Simply tell her to knock it off, and she will. She is still learning that most people will be kind to her. She hasn’t been out of the breeding facility very long. Rainbow is used to being around other dogs, so a confident 4 legged buddy would help her to learn and build confidence.    See the little nubbin she has for a tail? Well when you come home, that tail wags so fast, her entire body wiggles with joy. And in the morning, when she first sees you, Rainbow will jump up and down with excitement. Rainbow has a lot of love to give, that’s for sure!    Rainbow is still working on her house training, but seems to be catching on pretty well. Once she learns your routine, we are fairly confident that she will be successful. While her foster family is gone for the day, Rainbow is usually kept in the kitchen with a potty pad. Sometimes she will use it, but most times it remains dry. Speaking of when you leave, Rainbow will howl for a little while, but yes she settles down. W have also learned that leaving the TV or radio on seems to help her. She really wants to be around her family as much as possible. Due to the howling, we do not think she would be appropriate for an apartment. Right now Rainbow is not leash trained at all, so a fully fenced yard would be best for her (no invisible fences please)    Rainbow loves to be pet and scratched under her chin, on her nose, behind her ears, and of course her belly. At bedtime, Rainbow will lie on the floor next to the bed, but she really wants to get up in the big bed. She is figuring out all the comforts of living in a home with a real family to call her own.    If you think you can provide a nurturing environment to help Rainbow continue to grow and blossom, please apply today.  Rainbow is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  Her adoption fee is $475Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 16, 2025, 1:00 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rainbow, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
