My story

Hi, I'm Leo! I may be named after a lion, but I'm really only 6 lbs and 7 years old. Instead of being king of the jungle, I'd rather be king of your heart! General Behavior: This feisty little lover just wants to tag along with you and to be your buddy. He's small enough to take with you on your adventures, and in return he will protect you from evil forces like other dogs or loud noises. He wants to be on your lap but he will happily follow you when you need to get up. He will make a great, dedicated companion.  Likes & Dislikes: Leo loves snuggles with his person. He also likes to roam around in the back yard. Training: This little gentleman is making good progress with housetraining. He walks well on a leash, loves car rides, sleeps in the people bed at night, and generally has good basic manners.  Medical: Leo is a healthy boy! He just needs his monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog. Other Animals: Lovely Leo is good with other small dogs. He has yet to be observed around cats, but his foster thinks he'd get along with a feline friend.  Children: Leo would do best in a home with understanding, kind children (ages 8+).  Home:  This little firecracker requires a single family residence. As a Silkie Yorkie, he’s always on alert and will bark at sudden noises. He would also enjoy a supervised fenced area.  Grooming: To keep Leo looking his best, he will need professional grooming every 6 weeks. He’ll also benefit from frequent brushing to keep his coat shiny and tangle free.  Overall: Leo will make a wonderful companion for someone who will take him on adventures, give him lots of belly rubs, and love him forever.
