My story

Meet Phoebe! Phoebe was found wandering the streets of Los Angeles in heartbreaking condition—filthy, severely matted, and with raw, tender paws from walking. A kind-hearted pet groomer saw a post about her on Nextdoor and immediately stepped in to help. She gently groomed Phoebe to give her some much-needed relief and took her to be scanned for a microchip, but sadly, none was found. Realizing Phoebe was a senior dog in urgent need of medical attention and a safe place to land, the groomer reached out to us. On June 8th, we officially welcomed Phoebe as a Frosted Face. She’s estimated to be around 12 years old and weighs just 10 pounds. Despite the neglect and difficulties she has endured, Phoebe is sweet, gentle, and seems to adapt well to new settings. A volunteer took Phoebe on a 4-day Frosted Field Trip to her home, and shared the following afterwards: "Phoebe is sweet, quiet, and easy to care for. She walks slowly but for extended periods. On walks, I let her take me wherever she wanted to go as long as it was safe (I helped her with obstacles, curbs and steps). Phoebe often put herself in a crate or on the fluffy dog bed. She mapped out the indoor space she was allowed in quite quickly. For safety reasons, she slept in the crate the first few nights, then in the dog bed without issue. Phoebe accepted snuggles from me and gentle pets from two men she met. She eats well and naps often." To meet Phoebe, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Phoebe, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
