My story

Kevin is fostered in Waterford, MI. Meet Kevin – Your Next Adventure Buddy! He is a 1-2 year old, 54-pound, male Australian Shepherd with a heart as big as his energy! This handsome guy is full of life and ready to bring joy to his adoptive home. Whether it’s a hike in the woods or a game of fetch in the yard, Kevin is always up for the challenge. Like many young Aussies, Kevin thrives on physical and mental stimulation. He will need someone who can provide regular exercise and plenty of playtime to keep him happy, along with continued training and socialization. Kevin would be a great candidate for someone who needs a running partner or wants to participate in dog sports.   Kevin is is very social and loves every person and dog that he meets.  He come to rescue with no manners and no training so this is what his foster home has been focusing on.  Kevin is eager to please and responds well to positive reinforcement and treats. We do recommend an adopter who will provide a consistent structure and training to help him become the best version of himself.  Kevin has done great with grooming, car rides and was a very good boy at the vet's office.   Kevin is potty trained and crate trained. Kevin would do best with an adopter who has some herding breed experience.  Having another playful dog in the household would be a bonus for Kevin.  We do suggest a home without little ones and a physically fenced would be ideal.   Kevin is neutered, microchipped, negative for all tick born diseases, up to date on vaccinations and on monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworm.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.
