My story

The Road Crew litter of five arrived at our rescue on May 19, 2025. They were about five weeks old when we got them, so we will call their birthdays April 14. They were found in a cardboard box on the side of the highway in Lancaster, SC. All five had upper respiratory infections, were dehydrated, malnourished, infested with fleas, and covered in dirt. However, medications, fluids, good food, and a couple of baths took care of most of their problems. It was really helpful that they were all enthusiastic eaters and immediately figured out the litter box. One kitten, Lil Bit, by far the smallest, had a ruptured eye and will need that eye removed when she weighs enough to go under general anesthesia. Her surgery is scheduled for June 18th and she should be ready to go home early July. We have been down this road with other kittens. They are not in any pain and adapt to monocular vision easily because that’s really all they know. Otherwise, Lil Bit and her siblings are now completely healthy, playful, and very loving toward each other and to humans. One kitten, Leo, has already been adopted. The three others, Ty, Missy, and Tab, are old enough to leave for their forever homes now. If you don’t already have another cat or a cat-friendly dog, our rescue gives priority to applicants who will adopt two kittens. In addition to loving you, a kitten needs a fur friend to keep their mind occupied and to burn off extra energy. Bonded siblings do especially well together and are enthusiastic companions and playmates throughout their lives. Our adoption fee is $150 and covers FIV/FeLV testing, deworming, vaccinations, and spay/neuter with a partner clinic. To set up a visit, drop me a note at cherylsferalsandfosters@gmail.com or PM me. If you are considering adopting, please fill out and submit the adoption contract found in The Adoption Process link on my website (cherylsferalsandfosters.com). In the meantime, you can follow their journey on Facebook: Cheryl’s Ferals and Fosters Chat Group. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3).

If you have any questions or would like to adopt The Road Crew - Ty, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
