Hi! My name is Daisy and I am from Minnesota. After years in a kennel used for breeding, Daisy is finally knowing what love is. When she arrived in foster, Daisy was underweight, could barely walk from sore paws & stiff joints, & overgrown nails. In just 2 months, Daisy has blossomed into a cute, affectionate companion. She lives with 2 brothers, who have become her buddies, and she enjoys wandering the yard, sniffing everything in sight. She’s gaining weight, and understands now that meals come regularly. Her housetraining is improving- she still has accidents in her play pen, which once was her entire world(kennel), but making steady progress. Daisy is a total cuddle bug who enjoys baths, car rides & meeting people and dogs. At bedtime, she sleeps with her family with no accidents- just pure contentment. This little survivor has the biggest heart and the cutest wigglebutt. She’s finally discovering the joys of being a dog & looking for her forever home. From the Vet: Daisy has been in rescue for a bit while we waited for a cardiology specialist consultation due to a grade 3-4/6 heart murmur. This report has come back with good news for Daisy! The cause of her heart murmur is due to two mildly leaky valves in her heart, however her status at this time does not indicate a need for medications or surgery. It is safe for us to proceed with her other necessary surgeries. She will need to be spayed prior to adoption and then TBB will pursue getting Daisy an orthopedic surgery called an FHO to repair an injury to her right hip. Daisy also will need a dental surgery that will be covered by The Bond Between. Her future forever family should be prepared to take care of her medical needs common for her breed as well as annual check ups with a primary care vet for heart monitoring. They will need to provide Daisy a quiet, soft place to land to recover for about 8-12 weeks after her orthopedic surgery. Activity restriction during this time will be recommended. Following her dental, a softened food diet may be indicated.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Daisy D64732, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
