My story

Hi! My name is Pete and I am from Alabama. From his foster: Pete greets everyone with kisses and nose rubs. He will win you over with his sweet disposition and play. He’s a cuddler but can keep himself amused with toys and exploring. He gets along great with our older dog but hasn’t been around cats yet. House training is going well. We watch for his cues and use a schedule. He is not fond of his crate, it’s a work in progress. He is missing a part of one of his front paws. It’s just a little shorter. But it doesn’t keep him from doing anything. He walks, runs, jumps and “bounces” with the rest of the them. It does not bother him at all. From the Vet: Pete arrived in rescue with a suspected congenital deformity of his right front leg. At this time, because Pete is not showing any signs of pain, it has been determined that no surgical interventions are needed for Pete. We recommend that his future adopters be mindful of Pete walking on hard surfaces and use things such as socks/sleeves or other covers to keep his skin protected. He may be a candidate for something like a prosthetic in the future, however TBB will not pursue coverage for this and if desired or determined necessary this would be the responsibility of his future forever family and their primary care vet to discuss. We hope he find his soft spot to land in the world and lives his best life!
