My story

Name: Naru Age: 3 years Sex: Neutered Male Breed: Terrier Mix Color: White Weight: 19kg (42lbs) Height (shoulder): 49cm (19in)   Personality & Behavior Naru is an affectionate and social boy who loves both familiar people and new faces alike. He happily approaches strangers for pets, rubbing up against them and showing affection right away. Naru bonds equally well with men and women, and he comes running when called. He often initiates contact, asking for cuddles with his signature charm. He’s gentle with children, including those under 13, and is comfortable being picked up—he’ll even let you scoop him up by sliding your arms under his belly. Once he feels safe, he shows his trust by exposing his belly. Although Naru was rescued as a newborn and spent the first three years of his life alone in a small kennel, he has made remarkable progress. Initially unsure how to interact with other dogs, he now gets along beautifully with many canine companions—including even the tiniest puppies at our center. However, he may feel overwhelmed by very high-energy dogs and can react if provoked, so supervised introductions with unfamiliar dogs are recommended. His behavior around cats hasn’t been tested yet, but this can be arranged if needed. Naru has a calm demeanor and low energy level. He often prefers to lie down and relax, even while playing. Walking & Outdoor Behavior Naru is still learning the ropes of walking on a leash. He’s nervous in noisy or busy areas and may flatten to the ground when frightened. That said, he’s incredibly people-oriented and tends to follow his trusted human when scared. He walks well in quiet environments and is steadily gaining confidence. Living Habits • Naru does not resource guard with people or other dogs, but he may growl if another dog tries to take his food. • He does not have separation anxiety and rarely barks. • He’s calm in a kennel and rides well in the car, though he currently needs to be carried into the vehicle. He does not get carsick. • He is currently doing his business outdoors and is adjusting well. Rescue Story Naru was rescued in 2022 as a newborn puppy, his eyes still closed. Sadly, he remained in a small shelter kennel for nearly three years without finding a home. Recently, he was moved to AKR center to prepare for overseas adoption and a fresh start. You can also check his post on our Facebook (Link to Post) or instagram (Link to Post) Send in your application today through our website https://adoptmekoreanrescue.org/adoption-application/   AKR dogs can arrive at Vancouver or Toronto airport and may be able to arrive at some US airports (Seattle, LA, NY, Boston etc) where we have flight volunteers. If interested, please contact us. ##2419084##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Naru, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
