My story

Meet Moon: one small cat, one giant leap into your heart! This handsome space traveller arrived at EHS from another shelter after he was found navigating the streets. Not much is known about his past, but we do think Moon has stories to tell about his adventures in galaxies far, far away. ABOUT MOON-At shelter-He is described as sweet, outgoing, affectionate, snuggly and loves to give head butts! -He’s a total lap cat according to shelter volunteers.-Moon loves his “human time” and enjoys being pet and brushed by the volunteers.-Moon sometimes gets the zoomies and loves to “enthusiastically” play with his wand toy.-Moon is also a thief and often tries to steal his neighbour’s food!-Moon has FIV, which is a virus that weakens the immune system of a cat but is not transmissible to humans or other species.-Moon is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.MOON’S IDEAL HOME-Cats who have FIV can live just as long as other cats if they are properly cared for with a good diet, an indoor home, and a loving family. -Moon does not require medication for this condition but vet checkups twice a year are recommended.-Moon would also like you to know that he has a low heart rate and an abnormal heart rhythm, which will be further tested by a cardiologist to determine long-term management. He does not require medication at this time.- Moon is good with cats (fellow FIV+ felines only, please!), but we’re unsure how he feels about other pets or small children.-Moon would do best with a family who can provide the time, space, and attention he so desires.-EHS will offer a short foster-to-adopt period before finalizing the adoption to assist Moon with successfully transitioning into a forever home. During this time, our skilled volunteers will offer support to the potential adopters as they get to know Moon and help ensure everyone settles in comfortably. Now that Moon has returned to Earth and packed up his spacesuit, he’s ready to land in the arms of a loving family. Are you ready for Moon to eclipse your heart? If so, fill out an adoption application today! If you have any questions about Moon or the adoption process, please contact cats@etobicokehumanesociety.com

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Moon, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
