My story

Freddy is a social butterfly who makes fast friends with everyone he meets, human and canine alike! When you meet him, he’ll wiggle right over to say hello, ready for fun and friendship. On a recent outing he played the role of “helper dog” for shy pup Hemire, and the two were instant pals, walking, playing, and even exchanging a few kisses! Freddy walks well on leash, and he was a joy to be around from start to finish. Friendly, affectionate, and full of heart, Freddy is ready to bring his love to a new home. Meet him at ACCT Philly any day between 10 am & 6 pm VIDEOS: Freddy is a loverboy! https://youtube.com/shorts/EeDrZO08eJA?feature=share Freddy and Hemire meet: https://youtu.be/Va65HTEJIyI Freddy and Hemire: https://youtu.be/c0g3SEEZR9Q Freddy plays so gently w his puppy friend Hemire: https://youtube.com/shorts/Uf1FlpyXIH4?feature=shared Freddy and Hemire walk along/meet: https://youtu.be/3Hdq5UcZTTI?feature=shared BEHAVIOR: 06/05/2205 volunteer notes: Freddy is a very friendly and outgoing pup! As soon as we exited the shelter into the grass he started romping around happily. We passed another dog in the grass and then the Welcome Center dogs - Freddy continued walking by without interest or reaction. In the play yard Freddy solicited allover pets and handling. He takes treats gently. Freddy didn't show any interest in toys but will romp around and play chase with handler in the yard. We did a meet with timid pup Hemire - Freddy was excited with initial engagement, hackles raised. He self-regulated his excitement and would disengage to continue on a walk. As we continued the walk Freddy was neutral and relaxed. We saw other dogs in the parking lot while walking and Freddy remained neutral. He was mostly a moderate walker but at times was stronger on leash - with his size he'd likely benefit from a harness walk. Freddy is a great dog! Eager to please and treat motivated. He would make a phenomenal companion Of note: Freddy has some tar and debris stuck to his fur. While giving pets we were able to loosen some of the tar and remove from his fur - Freddy remained neutral and unbothered by it. He sat patiently while we tried to free some of the tar. The tar on his face was left untouched as his skin is pink and irritated. He didn't show any discomfort by it though. 06/05/2025 volunteer notes: I had the pleasure of meeting Freddy in the play yard w a few other volunteers when I arrived at the shelter today. He wiggled right over to the fence to say hello! We were fast friends, I don’t think Freddy has ever met a stranger. After our greeting and some fun, I brought Hemire out for a meet. (Hemire is a bit shy and needs a helper dog) - Freddy was so up for it! The two of them were instant friends. Walking, bouncing, playing, even kissing each other when Hemire rolled on his belly for a little extra fun! We walked along in the parking lot and both dogs were an absolute joy! 06/04/2025 staff notes, playgroup: Unable to allow/permit into yard due to over reactivity at the barrier and unsafe to muzzle, dog was becoming frustrated and growling at handlers when trying to apply muzzle.
