My story

Hi there, I’m Sam! I’m a sweet, shy guy — a darker tri-color Beagle compared to my brother, Castiel (also up for adoption!). I’m about 2 years old, and I weigh around 18 pounds. My story’s a little sad: my owner passed away, and I ended up at a shelter. Now I’m looking for a new family to call my own. At first, I can be a bit nervous around new people. I tend to crouch low and scurry away if I’m unsure. But sometimes, if you’re quiet and patient, I’ll sneak up behind you just to catch a little sniff and see if you’re friend or foe. I’m still getting used to coming inside new houses — I used to stay mostly in the fenced yard — but now I’m feeling braver and even like to dance a little when I’m happy! I have a very healthy appetite, and am still figuring out how I feel about the cats around here. So far, no big problems, but I do prefer dogs to cats. I’m more talkative than my brother, Castiel — if something’s in my way or I want your attention, you’ll probably hear me beagle-barking. I love car rides and would probably enjoy long walks to explore all the amazing smells out there. I’m a typical loving Beagle and would be a great companion for someone who understands my shy but sweet nature. Oh, my brother Castiel is super friendly and playful, and quite the charmer.
