My story

Hey there! I’m River, a friendly 4-year-old mix of Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) and Husky—coming straight from Chatham, VA. I have this gorgeous blue-black coat and stunning blue eyes that make me look like I’m ready to conquer the world (or maybe just a tennis ball, but who’s counting?). I’m a Sagittarius, so I’m all about adventure, curiosity, and a little bit of mischief. I weigh in at a lean 45 pounds, and I’m definitely all muscle under this pretty fur. I’ll tell you something about me—I love to chase cats. It’s just in my Cattledog nature, so don't be surprised if you see me dart after one! As a Cattledog-Husky mix, I have the energy and drive to match, but once I’m done zooming around, I’m pretty chill. I have a bit of a rough-and-tumble streak, though—one time, I had a little tussle with my sister during dinner (don’t worry, we’re both fine, and it was her fault!). Now I have this adorable little droop in the corner of my right eye. It's really no big deal—just sibling rivalry, you know? I’ve been really good about not causing any trouble when it comes to food, but here’s the thing: I’m a “foodie.” I just love it so much! Although, you know... I'm a dog...so it's kinda our deal, ya know? Anyhoo, just make sure to feed all of the animals in your home separately and there should be no issues! When it comes to people, I can be a little timid at first, but I love to stick close and get all the attention. Sometimes I’ll even sneak off during meal times and wait until everyone’s done before I come back out. I’m super sweet and gentle when it comes to taking treats (I mean, who doesn’t love a snack, right?). I’m really well house-trained, and I get along with other dogs just fine—I even play and share with them like a champ! I think a home with kids would be fine with me. As long as they give me space and take my cues, we'll get along just dandy. Since I can be a little shy at first, kids with a ton of energy and no real spacial awareness wouldn't be super fun for me. So maybe older kids and/or kids that know how to interact with dogs...that would be the best scenario. I will say, I am a bit of an acrobat and a sprinter in one medium-sized furry pup body. I LOVE to climb and jump fences and once I do, just blink your eyes and I'm gone! So my people will definitely have to make sure their home is escape-proof because if not, see ya...wouldn't wanna be ya!! So that’s me in a nutshell: a beautiful, adventurous, sometimes goofy girl who’s a little bit shy, definitely athletic, but most important of all, I'm always ready to love. Looking forward to sharing my journey with you! ##2350984##
