My story

MEET OLIVE! Perfectly named after a tiny black Olive, this shy and quiet girl is around 12 years old and joined us after being surrendered to Philly's animal control shelter due to her owner relocating to a nursing home. We have a feeling that Olive has always been used to a quieter home where she could live life at her own pace and think she'd be happiest in a retirement home with the same vibes. To put it bluntly, Olive is stunning! Her sleek black coat, bright yellow eyes, quiet personality and shyness make her the perfect little spooky companion. Olive is currently in foster care with another cat and several small dogs. Her former owner reported that she was friendly with other dogs, but being in a home with yappier small dogs can be overwhelming at times so she opts to not interact with them much. We think she could happily live with one or two other low-key pets. We'd recommend a home without young kids who may be too overstimulating for her. Olive will absolutely blossom in a quieter home, her previous owner reports her to be a loving, chill cat. She loves to play with jingle balls, ribbons, catnip toys, etc. and you'll often find her entertaining herself. She loves a good scratching post! She'll rub up against you, the wall, anything around to let you know she'd like some attention and will run/hide if she's not ready for the attention just yet. Olive has had a medical catchup since coming to City of Elderly Love and has proven to be a healthy girl. So while she may need some patience while adjusting to her new home, we're confident that Olive will blossom into a sweet, chill little companion with time. Have we mentioned how gorgeous she is?
