0850 Care Bear

My story

Care Bear is fostered in Moberly, MO. Care Bear is a handsome black tri male Australian Shepherd.  He is 3 years old and currently about 60 lbs.  However, Care Bear is on a diet program as he needs to lose some weight.  Care Bear and his sibling were surrendered to a shelter because their owners were divorcing.   Care Bear is a wonderful dog with such a wonderful temperment.  He is great with dogs of all sizes and also with cats.  He currently does not play with toys and isn't overly energetic, however, we do believe that once he reaches an appropriate weight, his energy level will increase since he is a younger aussie.  He will need a committed adopter who will continue his weightloss journey.   Care Bear is crate trained and does very well in his crate, sleeping all night with the door open.  He is also potty trained.  He could use some work on leash walking because he does pull.  His foster home is working on leash walking with him.  Care Bear has done well as the local dog park and even shown that he likes water.  Care Bear has done well with bathing and grooming and loves to go on car rides.   Care Bear is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.
