My story

Meet Rosie The Sweetheart Survivor Looking for Her Forever Home Rosie’s journey hasn’t been an easy one, but through it all, she’s remained a shining example of resilience, love, and unshakable sweetness. Found as a stray in South Los Angeles, Rosie was brought to a local shelter where she was spayed. Unfortunately, complications followed — she began peeing blood and was clearly uncomfortable. It was discovered that a piece of her uterine stump had been left behind, leading to a dangerous infection called pyometra. We rushed to get her out of the shelter to receive the life-saving surgery she needed. But just as our transporter arrived, the shelter took Rosie back into surgery to correct their mistake. A few days later, Rosie was finally released, and we were able to bring her into our care. Sadly, during her recovery, she developed an upper respiratory infection — a common risk in overcrowded shelters. But with antibiotics, lots of love, and some much-needed rest, Rosie made a full recovery. Today, Rosie is healthy, happy, and absolutely thriving! She is the epitome of a sweet dog — affectionate, playful, and full of life. Rosie loves going for walks, playing with other dogs, and snuggling up for cuddle time. She gives the gentlest kisses and has a heart full of love just waiting to be shared. Now all she needs is a forever family to give her the life she’s always deserved. Could that be you?

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rosie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
