My story

**$155 in pledges to any rescue that may pull!** Dina Bina ACCT-A-221191 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Dina Bina must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER or ADOPTER by SATURDAY, JUNE 14TH at 10AM. Should Dina Bina’s medical or behavioral status change, her urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Dina Bina was brought to ACCT Philly on May 24th after being found as a stray. The finder described her as calm, friendly, and good on leash. Since her arrival, Dina Bina has shown herself to be a sweet, affectionate dog who loves people and is eager for interaction. This wiggly, treat-motivated girl is full of charm and enthusiasm. Dina Bina enjoys attention, knows basic cues like "sit," and responds best when treats are offered with an open hand. She was high energy at first but quickly settled and even laid calmly with a volunteer during her evaluation. Though she's shown some barrier reactivity toward other dogs, she has also been described as easily redirected and tolerant during close contact with people. Dina Bina would do best with continued guidance. She would be fine as the other dog or in a home where she can have slow, structured introductions. Please bring all members of your household as well as any resident dogs along for an initial meet. With a little time and care, she promises to be a loving and loyal companion. Due to her length of stay, Dina Bina is urgently seeking placement with a rescue partner or adopter. VIDEOS: Dina Bina and Paulino dog meet: https://youtube.com/shorts/ytGVxTCYPfY?si=oPg5_0riP_Vw7VR7 BEHAVIOR: Per volunteer 6/8: If you are looking for a dog who will impress you with how many treats they can catch in a row then Dina Bina is the dog for you. She is a true delight to be around and made me giggle from not missing one single treat I would throw in the air. She is super friendly, loves attention and is just an all around great girl. Per volunteer 6/8: Barked at dogs through the fence. Loves pets. Knows sit. LOVES fetch. Smart and sweet. Per volunteer 6/6: Pulls slightly, extremely interested in other dogs, eating leaves. Per staff 6/5: Chill and sweet. Per volunteer 6/3: I had such a fun time with Dina Bina on Saturday! She has so much personality and is obviously unbelievably cute. Moderately interested in treats and easy to redirect with a treat toss. Some pulling towards passing dogs. Per volunteer 6/2: Wowow I love Dina Bina!!! Dina Bina is very easy to handle and is such a love. She’s treat motivated and likes to play! She’s also very photogenic. Per volunteer 6/1, playgroup: Dina was highly barrier reactive at her first playgroup eval. The yard she was introduced to today was much smaller and calmer, with only 3 other dogs. Dina was stiff at the fence for gate greetings, with raised fur and hackles. However she did not show any reactivity. After some time, she relaxed slightly (hackles and fur went down). Since she still seemed somewhat uncomfortable, we elected to muzzle Dina out of caution. In the run, Dina tolerated sniffs from the dogs and reciprocated sniffs with the other female dog (Gail). She remained highly steerable so we took the muzzle off. Her behavior sans muzzle was the same: she was still stiff and alert, but engaged in sniffs and allowed Gail to jump around her and lick her. After Gail lost interest, Dina did her own thing in the run, sniffing around and finding places to potty. Per volunteer 5/31: Loved fetch (didn’t bring back) and treats (cheese)! Knows sit, very sweet and affectionate. Per volunteer 5/28: Good dog meet with Paulino! Such a sweet girl. Added to running team board. Per staff 5/27: Was not able to introduce into yard 5/25 due to severe barrier reactivity. Behavior consisted of lunging and growling at the gate, very amped up and high drive towards the fence, fixating on the dogs in the yard. Made contact with the fence seemingly attempting to bite and hard barking. Went to assess again but Dina Bina had been marked as pending PCR. Per volunteer 5/25: Kennel presentation: Dina Bina is in a crate back in I row. As soon as she saw me approach her crate. She started jumping on her crate. I was able to open the crate door and she did try to push out a little, but I was able to lasso her over the head. She was very wiggly and very excited to go out of her crate. Leash: minimal/moderate pulling. Handling: I brought her in the volunteer room to do her eval where she remained very loose and wiggly and allowed all handling. She was very, very tolerant and super sweet. She showed off her tricks as she knows sit, but can be snatching with treats so open hand is best or she does know how to catch treats. She was high energy when she first came in, but settled very well. Another volunteer came into the volunteer room and she was very loose and wiggly with the volunteer. She settled down nice and laid on the ground. Walking back to her kennel she did bark at a few dogs but was easily redirected. She goes back in her crate with a treat. Toys: no interest. Play: interested in play. Color: gold. Per staff 5/25: Was going to have her assessed for playgroup but she was overly barrier reactive, and we had a primarily gentle dainty yard. So, we will assess again as a priority. Per staff 5/24: Did well with all handling and restraint. Sweet anxious girl. Per finder 5/24: Calm with all (strangers, animals, children), good on leash, friendly. MEDICAL: On 5/26, Dina Bina was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection (URI) or "doggy cold" and started on doxycycline. On 6/4, she was prescribed enrofloxacin and her course of doxycycline was extended. She is scheduled to be on both medications until 6/17. During her intake exam on 5/24, Dina Bina’s eyes were red (possible stress), her ears were slightly waxy, and she had yellow staining on her teeth. Her coat was clear with no hair loss or fleas. She appeared to be in good health overall. – Due to being significantly overcapacity with dogs and cats and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted. If you are interested in an animal please contact ACCT Philly immediately. Due to limited space, timestamps may also be proceeded with early so it is imperative to let us know if you are considering adopting or tagging a dog or cat. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Please visit www.acctphilly.org/adopt for details. If you are a rescue interested in pulling this animal, please email our lifesaving team, or visit here if you are not currently a rescue partner: https://acctphilly.org/acct-philly-love-local-partnership-program/ Confirmed placement is considered confirmation of an actual rescue pull. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent. All animals at ACCT Philly are from Philadelphia, as the only open intake animal shelter in Philadelphia, we are not able to accept animals from outside of Philadelphia. ACCT Philly’s Pennsylvania kennel license number is 08313.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Dina Bina, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
