My story

Champion is a 9 month old, 9-pound male Chihuahua/Terrier  mix from ALABAMA!  He has adjusted very well during his time with his foster family in Chelsea, Manhattan.  Champion enjoys belly rubs, cuddling, and meeting new dogs in the neighborhood.  He is doing well understanding “stay” and loves positive affirmation and recognition for his good behavior. He’s working on other commands as well and still learning.  During his time with his foster family. He seems to be a pro and well-trained with a wee pad and working with his foster family on going outside to do his business.  Champion is still learning to be on a leash and going for short walks on the block. This Southern Gentleman is still getting used to all the smells and sounds of the Big City, but still needs some patience, work, and time to adjust.  Champion is sweet, smart, reserved, and so loving.  His forever family will need to continue working with Champion to reinforce and advance the progress he’s been making, but he’s smart and learns things quickly! Overall, he’s a super easy pup to be with.  Champion has done well with being home alone and is happy to greet his foster family when they walk in the door showering them with love and kisses. As long as he has a couch, a lap, or his dog bed, he’s a happy pup. He sleeps very well through the night.  He loves to be cozy and cuddle with his foster family and can often be found napping or playing with a little ball and a soft squeaky toy. He’s very fascinated and loves to play with his own reflection in the mirror.  Champion is quiet, low-key, and easy going with his foster family. He loves praise and to be told that he’s such a good boy!  He appreciates downtime cuddling with his foster family, napping, going on short walks, and active playtime moments.  Champion seems to be very curious and sweet with other dogs and enjoys making new friends.  We would recommend Champion go to a home with a family who loves a sweet, angelic, and easy going lap dog and snuggle bug.  Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. To apply for Champion, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2403596##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Champion, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
