My story

Lil Harley is a 6-month-old, 4-pound female cat from the NYCACC.  Harley came from a hoarding house with 30+ cats after the owner moved and surrendered all the cats to NYCACC. Due to her limited exposure to humans, she found the shelter extremely overwhelming. After a complication with her spay, Harley stopped eating and ended up on the euthanasia list due to anorexia and severe weight loss. Thankfully we were able to pull Harley and admit her to ER where she received the much needed help. During her stay at the hospital, the doctors surprisingly did not find anything super concerning about her lab reports except for the fact that she just wouldn't move or eat. We suspected that it could all be stress-related, so she was released the next day and has been recovering wonderfully at her foster home. Harley is still taking her time to learn how to live a normal life, but it didn't take long for her to learn to appreciate scratches and her purrs are just so loud! She is obsessed with other cats and she loves dogs as well! We are hoping to send Harley to a patient and understanding forever home so she can settle down as soon as possible. A quiet and low key family would be ideal.  Vaccinated for FVRCP and rabies. Microchipped, spayed, and FeLV / FIV negative.  To apply for Lil Harley, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the animal is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable cat, or final size of any of our adoptable kittens. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the cat into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2368055##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lil Harley, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
