Meet Lia, a 6-month-old spayed female Terrier mix with a soft beige coat and a heart just as warm. She currently weighs 10.2kg and stands about 40cm tall at the shoulder. Lia’s journey started in a rural greenhouse, where her mother gave birth to six puppies. Sadly, the mother was driven away before she could care for them, but the puppies were rescued and lovingly raised by a nursing mother dog already caring for her own litter. Out of the six, five survived, and Lia is one of the resilient little ones who grew up surrounded by furry siblings and plenty of canine company. Lia is a sweetheart who thrives on human affection. Though she’s only ever known life in a group setting, she warms up quickly even in new environments. A little time and a tasty treat are all it takes for her to become your snuggly shadow. She enjoys being touched and will often roll over to show her belly when she’s feeling happy and relaxed. Lia is also great with kids, including those under 13, and she’s comfortable being picked up and held in your arms. When it comes to other dogs, Lia is a social butterfly. She’s friendly and will happily greet new canine friends, though she tends to play more actively with her close companions. Among her current group—three male pups—she’s the only girl, and she handles well rough-and-tumble play with ease and grace. She gets along best with dogs her own size, avoids conflict, and will gently remove herself from overly energetic situations when she feels overwhelmed. She’s shown little interest in cats during walks, focusing instead on her human companion, and she’s available for further testing with household cats. Lia has a moderate energy level and loves the outdoors but is just as content to relax and recharge after playtime. She prefers sweet, gentle play over wild zoomies. She doesn’t pull and generally follows her person’s lead, though her puppy curiosity sometimes tries to take the wheel. She’s easy to guide and very manageable. She’s also calm in a crate, doesn’t guard her food or toys, and has no separation anxiety, though some initial nervousness is expected if she’s adopted into a solo home after being raised with her siblings. She might bark briefly at strangers but quickly settles, and while she can’t hop into a car on her own just yet, she’s well-behaved once inside. Lia is also currently used to doing her business outdoors. Lia’s looking for a loving home where she can bloom—could that be yours? Send in your application today through our website https://adoptmekoreanrescue.org/adoption-application/ She can arrive at Vancouver or Toronto airport and may be able to arrive at some US airports (Seattle, LA, NY, Boston etc) where we have flight volunteers.
