Aww my sweet little man Burro. What a pleasure it is to introduce you to this slow burn. Realistically, it’ll take 3 months in a quiet household with homebody humans with other resident cats for this kitten to feel confident enough to shine through. After a few months, I watched this shy, spicy kitten transform from hiding from you saying hello to him. To full out, curling up on my bed with me. Allowing me to pick him up and hold him. It was once a few seconds, we’ve now progressed up to a few minutes of holding. He’s not super great with this yet but he’s getting there and wants it. He sees all the other cats getting cuddles and wants it and will even present himself for belly rubs (but has only accepted them once). At the beginning of meeting Burro, he would only tolerate human interaction a little bit. Now, I hold him every day even if it’s for a couple minutes here and there. The more he’s held, the more he loves it and wants more. Every time I put him down and move off to another room, he’ll jump down and follow me (like he wants more pets). When I clean the litter box out, Burro will be my inspector who swats my butt when I’m not looking. His personality is coming out but he’s not a dominate cat nor personality. Burro is very sweet. He won’t chomp or bite hard. He does light bites. Mind you, the claws can get sharp. Burro is not fond of getting his nails done but he’s enjoyed his mani-pedi days in my home. I usually use a thick towel and like his name, he Burro’s into the towel when the clippers come out. Easy peasy in under 10 minutes. So yes, he’s shy. Yes, you’ll have to earn Burro’s trust to see this sweet personality that he possesses. One way to do so is adopt him with his buddy Churro, they’ve been inseparable since kitten hood. They get along like they’re brothers. Either way, he’d make an excellent companion cat.Burro must be adopted with Churro or as a buddy to a friendly resident cat.Burro has mild juvenile gingivitis, which should resolve with age, but this condition will need to be monitored by a veterinarian. Like all ACR cats, Burro is up to date on vaccines and has been treated for fleas and parasites.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Burro *MUST BE ADOPTED WITH CH, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
