My story

Looking for a loyal best friend who’s equal parts walking buddy and world-class snuggler? Meet Penny!Penny is a sweet, affectionate, medium-sized pup who has come a long way in her foster home and is ready for a forever family to call her own. She was shy and shut-down in the shelter, but since settling in with her foster, she’s proven herself to be a loving and adaptable companion. She quickly picked up a potty routine and is fully house-trained. She is also crate trained and sleeps peacefully through the night. During the day, she’ll often retreat to her crate for naps—even with the door open—or curl up in a cozy spot near you.This happy girl LOVES going on walks and does beautifully on leash. Her favorite toys are bones and chew toys, and she’s been starting to play with her canine foster brother, a young and energetic 60 lb pit mix. Penny also gets along well with the resident cat and has been friendly when meeting other dogs out on walks. While Penny bonds deeply with her trusted person and is incredibly loving—always wanting to be near, cuddle, or curl up at your feet—she is more timid around men and may need time and patience to feel safe around them. With time, consistency, and gentle encouragement, Penny is building trust and confidence every day.Penny’s ideal home would be one that understands her shy nature and gives her the space and support she needs to blossom. Whether it`s a house or an apartment, as long as she gets her daily walks and lots of love, she`ll thrive. She’d do great in a home with other respectful dogs, and she’s already proven herself cat-friendly. Penny is a quiet, calm, and cuddly companion who just wants to feel safe, loved, and included—could that be with you?
