My story

Iron Mike is a pretty tough sounding name for the GOOFIEST boy around! Iron Mike is sure to greet you with cuddles (with absolutely no body awareness) and tail wags that don't stop. You can usually find him in an odd position- splooting, rolling on the floor, flailing around, etc. He is certainly not the smartest dog around but he makes up for it in charm and enthusiasm! Iron Mike is now available for adoption at ACCT Philly. You can meet him any day from 10am-6pm. Video: Iron Mike rolling around: https://youtu.be/kWc_unhmzR4 Petting IM: https://youtu.be/q6BQvgSurxM IM knows sit: https://youtu.be/Si7kCvqo34o Meet Iron Mike: https://youtu.be/ylV4gK9Gw6Q Behavior: Behavior Eval 5/20/25: Kennel Presence: When I approached his kennel, he greeted me at the front with a calm and loose body and a wagging tail. Leash: He walks well on leash with just some minimal pulling. Gets excited when he sees other dogs with an alert tail and ears, but general body language is loose. Handling: He met a female dog and approached her very eagerly and sniffed her. He had an alert straight up tail that was stiffly wagging, no hackles and no vocal reaction. Body language was a bit stiff meeting her. Kept tail wagging the whole time and allowed sniffs back. Not very treat motivated. He takes them super gently, but then spits them out. He loves handling!! Super goofy boy who loves to jump around and run into your arms for love. Chased toys briefly. Super good just rolling around on the floor. Super splooty cutie boy! Color: A bit jumpy and playfully mouthy so making him blue but very easy handling overall. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Please visit www.acctphilly.org/adopt for details. If you are a rescue interested in pulling this animal, please email our lifesaving team, or visit here if you are not currently a rescue partner: https://acctphilly.org/acct-philly-love-local-partnership-program/ Confirmed placement is considered a confirmation of an actual rescue pull. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent. All animals at ACCT Philly are from Philadelphia, as the only open-intake animal shelter in Philadelphia, we are not able to accept animals from outside of Philadelphia. ACCT Philly’s Pennsylvania kennel license number is 08313

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Iron Mike, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
