My story

Frankie is a 4-year-old male who was brought in by animal protection officers as a stray on 5/10. Frankie is full of love and affection and hoping to get a one way ticket out of this loud scary shelter. Poor Frankie has some medical issues that he needs tending to, like healing scars and abrasions on his paw pads. Because of this he's looking for a rescue partner or kind adopter to get him back to full health. Reach out to Lifesaving@acctphilly.org if your rescue can help or meet him any day 10am-6pm for adoption! Behavior Notes: Behavior eval 5/17/25: Kennel Presence/Leash: He greeted me with a calm body when I approached and easily allowed me to leash. He has a note on his kennel that says he has hurt paw pads so we walked slowly to the volunteer office. Handling: Super sweet boy! He is so open to handling and love. He takes pets all over and allowed handling even with us checking his paws. He is treat motivated and takes them super gently. He peed in the office a few times. Was fine with two other people in the office and very loose body! He is very resistant to going back into the kennel and pancaked. I ended up carrying him back in which he allowed with no issue. Color: Made him blue because he didn’t want to go in but with handling he was Green. Medical Notes: Per an exam on 5/13: “Presented for exam room on leash, friendly but nervous, cooperative for entire exam. Objective: -BAR, euhydrated -moderate multifocal tartar and gingivitis -normal muscle mass and symmetry. Ambulatory x4, no pain, stiffness, swelling, or lameness noted -all paw pads mildly to moderately erythematous with abrasions and small amounts of dried blood, front paw pads more affected than hind, several areas of scabbing over distal limbs but no discharge or active hemorrhage, one tick found on inner right pinna. Otherwise full coat with no evidence of pruritus. Assessment: -Wounds on paw pads - healing without complication -Minor scratches and scabs over hindend and distal limbs - healing without complication -Tick found Per an exam on 5/11: -Nose is Raw around stop -teeth have slight staining yellow on most teeth . -pads of feet severely worn causing pain/discomfort. -QAR nervous, but friendly, did not display and concerning behavior. Used muzzle as precautionary measure. Was not fractious or uncontrollable. Over all friendly patient. Per an exam on 5/10: “Presented to triage as a possible HBC. On exam, eyes clear, ears clean. Gums pink/red, moist,
