My story

Duke | 5 months old| Chocolate lab mix| Cat and dog friendly| GTA It's been a real puppy party at PAWS lately, and Duke is our newest baby looking for home! This gorgeous boy has it all: big heart, big appetite, big fun, big good boy energy! Duke is a sweet and courageous little guy. He likely didn't receive much socialization or care in his early life, so he can be a little bit wary of new people but is very easily won over by treats and gentle encouragement. Once he's decided you're okay, you're in for life! He's loyal, loving, and seeks out cuddles and attention. Because he's so treat motivated, Duke is a very teachable puppy! He's already learned sit and wait at mealtimes, and he is housetrained. He's working on leash skills and is a quick study because he loves to eat (typical lab) and loves to please his people. Duke would be an amazing addition to a household that already has resident animals. He is currently living with an 137 lb dog and loves to play with him. He's also very interested in the 18 year old cat in his foster home and will occasionally try to play with her, but responds respectfully to being swatted away. He is so fond of the household cat that he likes to sleep in her bed when she's not using it! Because Duke loves being around his people and finds a lot of comfort in companionship, he'd be happiest in a home where someone is home for a lot of the day. He barks a bit when he's first left in his crate, and although he settles down quickly he may not be the best fit for someone in an apartment or condo. This boy just wants to love and be loved! He's looking for someone who will return his loyalty, affection, and company. If you have the love to offer him, please apply at the link: https://form.jotform.com/pawsacrossthewater/adoption-application

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Duke, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
