My story

Bella is a sweet, affectionate girl who’s ready to be your new best friend. She absolutely loves people and will happily curl up in your lap for cuddles. Bella prefers to be the only cat in the home—she’s not a fan of sharing her space with other felines. However, she has lived with a large dog before, and with a slow introduction, she may do well with a respectful canine friend. Whether she’s chasing after toys, keeping you company on the couch, or soaking up attention, Bella is all about being part of the family. She’s playful, loving, and ready to fill your home with purrs. If you’ve been searching for a cuddly, people-loving cat who wants to be the queen of your heart (and your home), come meet Bella! Change is hard for this cat. This cat will be very nervous when you first bring them home. You will need to set up a room with a litter box, food, and water. It will take days for this cat to become comfortable and confident in the new home. This cat will be going home with a behavior plan that will need to be followed in order for everyone to transition successfully. #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter. (Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available on Saturdays and during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All cat adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccine -current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV/FIV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
