My story

Meet Astrid, an adorable spayed female poodle! She is young at approx 11 months old, and weighs about 40 lbs - the perfect size! Astrid is a super sweet and friendly girl! She is great with other dogs, people, and dog savvy kids. She has not been cat tested. She has spent a lot of time around a 2yr old child, and is super gentle and listens very well.  She is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained (but is used to being crated with her sister, Dayna). As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save.
