My story

Meet Penny – Your New Best Friend! Penny is a sweet, affectionate, and talkative 8-year-old calico looking for a forever home where she can be your loyal companion. She thrives on human interaction and will happily jump up for pets or curl up in your lap for a cozy snuggle session. If you’re relaxing on the couch, Penny will be right there with you—either on your lap or snuggled by your side. She loves to play with wand toys and reportedly got along with the dogs in her previous home. She’s getting used to the dog in her foster home. She was surrendered when her owners were moving and couldn’t take her along. Penny is used to being the only cat, but may adjust to living with a relaxed cat or kitten, though she has been frightened of them so far in her foster home. She would be fine with older kids who are experienced with cats. Penny prefers not to be left alone in closed rooms—she wants to be part of the family! When given full roam of the house, she has perfect manners and no destructive habits. She’s fully litter box trained, crates well for vet visits (though she meows), and tolerates grooming and nail trims like a pro. She is not a fan of wet food or treats, despite several attempts to try to spoil her! Penny is content with free-feeding her favorite dry kibble. She’s a low-maintenance companion who would be a great match for a first-time cat owner or anyone seeking a mellow, loving friend. Penny is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and being fostered in Colorado Springs. Her adoption fee is $95.
