My story

Meet Pola! Pola and her brother Samson were entrusted to our care through the Final Wish Program after their mom passed away. Pola and Samson are both 12 years old, weigh 12 lbs., and are very sweet. They are currently on an extended Frosted Fling, receiving lots of love and care while we learn all about them. Their Fling Mom shared: "Fostering Pola & Samson has been like living with a quiet love story — full of gentle moments, small joys, and a lot of naps. Pola is my little shadow and the social butterfly of the pair. On walks, she wants to greet every person and dog we pass — tail wagging, eyes sparkling, like everyone’s an old friend. At home, she’s expressive and affectionate, with the cutest bark when she wants to be picked up or served her dinner. Samson is the soft-spoken gentleman. He’d rather sleep in than eat, so most mornings I gently bring him to his bowl. He’s quiet and sensitive — no barking, no fussing. If something bothers him, he just stops and trembles, which is my cue to check in and make sure he’s okay. Samson is incredibly gentle with Pola. If their leashes get tangled on walks, he freezes in place so I can untangle her safely. Recently, he discovered the joy of chasing a ball — and he does it with the most adorable deer-like hops (even if he’s not totally sure what to do once he catches up to it!) They’re both wonderfully polite — they won’t go outside or come back in unless I say it’s okay. No pulling. No rushing. Just quiet respect and gentle hearts. We took them to the lagoon in Carlsbad, and Pola dipped her toes into swimming (in her cute little life jacket!) and lounged like a pro on the kayak. Samson explored the sand like an astronaut on the moon — slow, curious, and totally charming .Both were so relaxed out on the water, just enjoying the breeze and the moment. Back home, Pola and Samson are movie-night cuddle bugs who love nothing more than naps and gentle pets.
