My story

What my friends at ACC say about me:My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them.I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets.My #BoroughBreak Buddy Writes: Lovely dog Pecan Pie lives up to her name: she is delightful and sweet. Though a little cautious at first, she warmed up to me quickly when I provided treats. She is an explorer, often lifting her head at new sounds and sniffing everything that she could on our long walk. She is also happy to walk at your pace: she never pulled on the leash, and she gently matched my energy and stride. She seems eager to meet other dogs (though is not reactive to them, just curious!). Throughout our walk, she was noticed by many passersby who smiled at her visible earnestness. I hope her furever family is ready to take lots of long exploratory walks with this sweetheart! My #BoroughBreak Buddy Writes: We loved spending the day in the park with Pecan Pie. She is the absolute sweetest and is so smart too! Although she was nervous to meet us, she quickly warmed up when we got out the long leash and tennis ball to play fetch. It seems that a tennis ball is the key to her heart! We did some training with Pecan and noticed how quickly she learns. She responds really well to communication and positive reinforcement and is treat motivated, which meant that it was really easy to teach her new things while we were out together. When we weren't playing fetch or exploring, Pecan Pie loved to come in close for snuggles. She will lean her full weight into you and climb into your lap. She looks right onto your soul with her big brown puppy eyes and then sneaks a little kiss too. She is an absolute delight and will do really well with a quiet family that can reassure her and help her to build her confidence. Primary Color: Brown Weight: 44.5 Age: 4yrs 1mths 0wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Pecan Pie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
