My story

Have you forgotten about me? I’m Barkley, remember. I’m doing so well in foster care and working with my trainer. I’m about a year old, fully vetted, and doing well on my meds, which help me with training. My only issue now is I’m still in fear from all my abuse, and my foster mom’s space is mine — I don’t like when someone comes into it. I’ll nip at your hands and feet. I’m simply saying I’m very scared and feel safe here, so please don’t come close. Away from my foster mom, I am much better. The trainer has me meeting my former foster mom soon. But I need you. I need a new foster-to-adopt or adoptive home with someone patient, loving, understanding, and experienced with reactive, fearful dogs. My trainer has offered a free training session when I meet my new family and is part of my team of amazing people who love me. Despite my issues, once I’m comfortable I’m a Velcro dog who’s as playful and sweet as can be. Whether playing ball or with sticks, sitting in your lap, or laying on you, I’ll unconditionally love you forever. I’m ready to leave my past behind me and start new.
