My story

Meet Shellie, a 10-month-old mixed breed pup who came all the way from South Carolina in search of a fresh start and a family to grow up with. This sweet girl has been playful, friendly, and full of puppy charm since she arrived. She absolutely loves other dogs and would likely thrive in a home with a playful canine buddy. Shellie is a smart cookie who picks things up quickly—especially when there's a treat involved! She's been responding well to positive reinforcement training and is eager to learn. Like many young pups, she’s still figuring out how to interact with people appropriately, and she’s been a bit mouthy while settling in. Because of that, we’re recommending an adults-only home for now. We don’t know if that behavior will continue in a home setting, but with consistency, patience, and continued training, she has all the potential to grow into a well-mannered companion. If you're looking for a bright, bouncy pup with lots of love (and energy!) to give, Shellie might be your match. All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations - heartworm test -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter -treatment of fleas & ticks -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your pet.
