My story

Monkey is a 9-year-old pit bull with a playful spirit and a heart full of love. Don’t let his age fool you—this guy still has plenty of pep in his step and loves to romp around outside, go for walks, and soak up all the fun life has to offer. His owner had to surrender him when they moved because they couldn't find a place that allowed pets. Monkey is a social, affectionate boy who does well with other dogs and adores kids. He’s the kind of dog who brings joy wherever he goes—whether he’s trotting by your side on a walk or just hanging out with his people. He is house trained once he settles in. While he hasn’t learned the usual sit/down routine yet, he’s eager to connect and would love someone willing to teach him a few tricks (yes, older dogs can learn too!). He’s got the personality, now he just needs a place to call home. If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion who’s equal parts cuddle buddy and outdoor adventurer, Monkey might be your guy. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours. All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations - heartworm test -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter -treatment of fleas & ticks -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your pet.
