My story

If you're looking for a cat with sparkle, and a whole lot of love to give, Diamond might just be your perfect match! This playful and affectionate girl adores her people and loves a fun session of chasing her favorite feather wand toys, playing with pipe cleaners and doing zoomies. Diamond’s previous family described her as very friendly and full of personality. She’s a big fan of treats and mealtime, and she’ll never say no to a snack (or two!). One of her favorite pastimes is birdwatching—she loves gazing at parakeets out the window from her cozy spot in the shelter. She’s done well with teenagers. She is not a lap cat but likes to be around her people and get pets form them. She will let you know when she wants belly rubs but isn't a fan of being picked up. Diamond has been bossy with other cats, so she may do best as your only feline friend. She is playful, funny and sweet, but it may take awhile for her to come out of her shell. You will need to be patient with her, but you will be rewarded a hundredfold when she blossoms. If you're ready for a sweet, spunky, and lovable companion, come meet Diamond—you might just fall in love with this shining star! This cat has specific litterbox needs. When you bring this cat home they will need to be set up in a room by themselves. This cat will go home with a behavior plan that you will need to follow in order for them to use the litterbox reliably. If you're ready to adopt now: Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) You can also: Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us (springfield@dakinhumane.org) for more information about a pet, to adopt sight unseen or to place a 24 hour hold on a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours. All cat adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccine -current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV/FIV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Diamond-In Foster, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
