My story

How this pet arrived: Gene Wilder was brought in by a community member on April 15, 2025.Why this pet is the one for you:ntroducing Gene Wilder - a quiet, contemplative type who prefers the calm side of life. Gene takes his time getting to know you. Fast-paced environments, crowded spaces, and the hustle and bustle of young children aren't his style. Instead, Gene is looking for a peaceful home where he can feel secure and understood. This gentle boy isn't ready for dog parks or café patios just yet. He's still working on building his confidence, and would do best with someone who can offer continued positive reinforcement and a steady, reassuring presence. A home with predictable routines and quiet corners would be his ideal retreat. With time and patience, Gene will start to show off his sweet, sensitive nature and those little quirks that make him so endearing. Gene is a great reminder that not every dog wants the spotlight-some just want a cozy spot to rest, a person to trust, and the freedom to go at their own pace. If you're the kind of person who enjoys slow mornings, soft-spoken company, and watching trust bloom, Gene might just be your perfect match. If you're coming to meet Gene, we recommend bringing a secure leash and collar-ideally a martingale style-as he's still learning to feel comfortable in new settings. Give him the gift of a serene space and a little grace, and you'll get to witness the quiet joy of a dog learning to feel safe and at home. Shy/Fearful Dog: This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Primary Color: Cream Weight: 57.4 Age: 2yrs 1mths 0wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Gene Wilder, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
